Fourth of July 2012

Forgive me for not buying flag shirts for everyone this year....I've been a little preoccupied/drugged/sleep deprived for the last few weeks.  We still had a great easy going day and finished it with a bang...literally!

Jeremy and I took the kids to the midlothian fireworks show on the third...it was ok as usual.  Jake really enjoyed it. I didn't have my camera that night but he was so funny with his comments.  He loved it!  On the fourth, the boys went swimming at my parents house while Lola and I watched.  Well, I watched and Lola slept!  Then we went to a fire works show in my parents neighborhood.  Way better than the midlothian one and right over our heads.  The boys had fun playing on a playground and playhouse in this person's backyard and Jake played so hard, he fell asleep in the middle of the fireworks show.  Right after the picture of him and I was taken...out!  Jeremy held Lola's ears the whole time.  I couldn't believe how close they were.  It was great!  Here are a few pictures from our day.  Not much but at least I'm making an effort now.  Enjoy!

Lola Ruth Jackson

Lola Ruth Jackson was born on June 14, 2012 at 10:04am by c-section.  She weighed 7lbs 9oz and was 19 inches long.  Dr Lauren Monti performed the c-section along with my other 2.  Everything went pretty smoothly except for a little breathing/swallowing issues at the end of the c-section.  My sister DeAnn Black and Jeremy were in the OR with me during the birth.

What a great day!! I heard her cry and continue to cry for a while before I got to see her. I remember my sister saying she looked like the boys and Jeremy saying she had a lot of hair. What a special moment to see my daughter for the first time. She was so much smaller than I envisioned and she was perfect! I cried a lot!

We had a lot of family visitors that day. Lola's name is a family name. Lola came from Jeremy's dad's side - Grandma Jackson's mom was named Lola. Ruth comes from my mom's side of the family. My Grandmother's middle name is Ruth. I love that she has a name from both sides and it is unique. We didn't tell anyone the name until we were in the recovery room. Grandmother cried and Grandma I think was in shock. It was fun seeing their reactions.

She has been a great baby from day 1. Our first night was a little rough....she just wanted to be held. After that though she has done great sleeping. She came into this world practically sucking her fingers. I knew she'd be a good eater and she is! She rarely cries and of course sleeps a lot right now.

Her brothers have done very well with her. They have both been very sweet. The love to kiss her and Jax loves to hold her. It has definitely been an adjustment but we are getting the hang of it. I am so blessed and love my family. We are now complete and look forward to what the future has in store. Below are our pictures of Lola's big day!

Cedar Hill Fountains

Every summer we head to the Cedar Hill Shopping Center before school gets out to play in the water fountain.  Jax has enjoyed it for the last couple of years but this is the first year Jake is up and walking/running so that he can play like his brother.  They both started out not wanting to get too wet but then got use to it and enjoyed the morning.  Notice how calm it is - not many kids.  Once school is out, it's a mad house and we don't go as often.  But we still have fun when we do go.  They had a great time!  Enjoy the pictures!

Mother's Day 2012

I have so much to be thankful for as a mother this year.  My two boys are doing so good and I adore them dearly.  In a few short weeks we will be welcoming our little girl and our family will be complete.  God has been so good to Jeremy and I and I count my blessings every day.  We had a great Mother's Day this year.  We went to church and ate at Gloria's for lunch then the boys and Jeremy went fishing that evening while I stayed home...my kind of evening!  They got me some great perfume that I've been wanting and I love it.  It was a great easy going day for the most part.

Fishing for the First Time

Jax and Jake got fishing poles for their birthday so we decided to try them out with Honey and Papa before Mother's Day.  We went down to the lake in their neighborhood and had dinner and did some fishing.  Jake just enjoyed being outsided where he could run all over the place and be free.  He attempted to fish a little but doesn't quite have the patients yet.  Jax on the other hand did awesome.  He was casting the pole within a few minutes of learing what to do and ofcourse threw a fit when we had to leave.  He loved it!!  We had a great night with Honey and Papa and can't wait to go back.  Here are some great pictures.
