Bed Rest and Big Feet

I dedicate this picture to my sister-in-law Amy because she loves other peoples feet....hehehe. I went to the doctor today for my last checkup and I got scolded and then put on bed rest. I was going to work 3 days this week and she put a stop to that so I'm now on maternity leave for the next 7 weeks...yipee! My blood pressure was 160 over 100 and kept rising while I was at the doctor. She even made me lay down while I was there. She said if I didn't take it easy I could have a seizure and I don't want that. My feet have looked like this for a few days now. I don't even have calves anymore - just a straight block all the way down. Atleast I was able to get a pedicure. Jax has still not moved down. In fact, he's sitting straight up in my belly now - butt down - so looks like I'm on for the C-Section on May 27th at 9:30am.

I've also included some updated pictures of his room. I caught mona, our boxer, taking a snooze on his rug today. She definitely knows somethings up. And the last crazy pictures are of my baseball belly at week 38 and 5 days. I couldn't resist - trying to do something fun with the belly. Enjoy!

Crazy Dog....Crazy Baby

Well, another week has gone by and no baby :( I had my 37 1/2 week appointment today and the little guy is still breach. Good news is that he did move his feet higher so there is still a possibility that he could turn the right way. My doctor and I discussed my options and I decided to go ahead and schedule a C-Section for May 27th at 9:30am at Baylor in Downtown Dallas. That gives Jax two weeks to make up his mind on how he wants to come out and make his grand appearance. My doctor even asked me if I've had a discussion with my son about coming out and I told her we talk every day. I've included a picture...notice I'm not smiling. This is what misery looks like at 37 weeks and 5 days - no sleep and swollen everything.

Now I know you're just dying to know why I have a crazy dog as stated in the title. Razor the german shepard has issues. As a lot of you know, we have to now sedate him during storms. Every year he gets crazier and crazier. I think with the new move and the baby on the way, he's gotten even crazier so he decided to start eating his tail. I took him to the vet this last week and the doctor knocked him out, gave him some shots, cleaned his tail and put this ridiculous cone on his head so he couldn't get to his tail. I just had to include a picture. When he's in the house, he runs into everything. It's pretty funny. Right now, its the only thing you'll see me laugh at....enjoy.

Showers

Jeremy and I have been very fortunate thus far in our marriage. We have a new house, baby on the way, great jobs, and wonderful family and friends that surround us! During the last month, our friends and family have given us 4 baby showers to prepare for the little slugger. My salon - McKenzies Salon Studios gave us a shower and went in together to get our car seat, stroller and a few other goodies. My mom's family gave us our second shower complete with baseball theme. Our third shower was given by my best friend and new mom Wanissa Watts, her mom Melissa, sister Alicia, Karen Lynch and Susan Turner at our church - also with a baseball theme. Our last shower was given by Jeremy's dad's family whom calmed my nerves with plenty of diapers and essentials thank goodness! We are truly blessed and thankful for how everyone has helped us prepare for our new bundle of joy!

The New House

Now that you know a little about us....I'll give you some details. Jeremy and I just built our first house approximately 30 minutes south of Dallas and we love it. It's been fun decorating and getting ready for Jax. I've included some pictures. The baby's room is not done but I thought I'd give you a peek. Since Jeremy is a baseball coach and loves the Boston Red Sox, that is the theme of the room complete with red sox bedding, toy box, rocker, tin signs and clothes thanks mostly to Jeremy's mom and sisters! My mom and I made the bedding and window treatment (which isn't finished yet) but I'll give you an update when its all up. I've also included pictures of the living room, our bedroom (yes that's a towel in the irregular shaped window for now), the study, kitchen and spare bedroom. Enjoy! Rooms not shown include
bathrooms and formal dining room because there's nothing in it yet.

The Beginning

Let's start at the beginning......Jeremy and I actually met about nineteen years ago (1989ish) and dated over the years. After a long road, we finally decided that we were meant for each other and got married December 17th, 2005 at the Scottish Rite Cathedral in Downtown Dallas. We have now been married almost two and a half years and have acquired two spoiled rotten dogs in the process - Mona the boxer and Razor the german Shepard. They have no clue but in approximately 4 weeks their worlds will be turned upside down when our first son - Jax Dean Jackson - will be making his appearance around May 31st.
