Halloween Week....What a week!

What a fun week for Jax! Before I explain the halloween festivities for the week, I have to show you dad's picture of the week. I got home one night and was shocked to see that my husband had dressed Jax in one of his A&M outfits.....maybe he's finally catching on - since Jax Will be going to A&M :) or maybe it was because he's worn so much orange this week due to Halloween and we had to balance that ugly color out.

Last year before Jax was born, my sister, DeAnn, bought Jax some Halloween pj's. It was fun to finally put him in them. The first picture was taken right before he went to bed.....he was sooo tired. The next two were the second outfit. One picture with Mona and the other one is Jax doing what he does best.....chewing on his clothes. He does this all the time and it drives me crazy - puts everything in his mouth!

The rest of the pictures are from the day of Halloween. We started off our morning with a trip to Jeremy's school. Jeremy took him around to all of his teacher friends and we also stopped and got a picture. Jax was a monkey this year. I seriously think this costume added 10 lbs to my poor child. He was still soooo cute

After we left the school, we went to my salon and my mom's office. Then we went home, took a nap and headed over to DeAnn's for a night of trick or treating. We got a picture with all the boys and then headed out for the neighborhood. We had a good day overall and look forward to next year when he'll be walking and understanding a little better. Well, that's it for now...We'll keep you posted

Homecoming in Midlothian

That's right, it's an exciting time of year in Midlothian - Homecoming....where there are more floats for pee-wee sports than there are for high school or middle school combined. It's pretty humorous but fun for kids to watch.....of course, I can't say much because I was in that silly parade every year growing up for cheerleading. Anyways, Jax and I met up with DeAnn and her boys to watch the parade. Jax fell asleep half way through it but I got a couple of pictures before that happened of the boys.

Not much else happened this week except this funny little story. I came home from work on Wednesday night (I get home around 8:15) Jax's light was on in his bedroom and I knew that Jeremy was home taking care of him. I walked in the room and saw the funniest sight. Jeremy had Jax propped up in his red sox rocker with a red sox cap on that is meant for newborns. The hat was stretched over my little man's head and then all he had on was some sweat pants. Luckily, I had my camera in my purse and got a quick picture. Jax was all smiles - well except in my picture....He loves hanging out with dad!

This last picture is Jax having his evening meal. We're getting ready for Halloween and of course Jax has plenty of Halloween outfits for this week. Gigi brought this bib by this weekend so we had to put it on for dinner.

That's about it for now - check back with us next week for some great Halloween photos and more. We'll keep you posted!

Good run Red Sox

This is mine and Jax's tribute to the Red Sox. They were one game away from going to the World Series again and last night, they got beat by Tampa Bay. Oh well, maybe next year....but it was a good run while it lasted. These two pictures are of Jeremy and Jax watching one of the playoff games. Aren't they cute :)

I know I've shown some of you this next set of pictures but here they are again. Jax is starting to sit up. He even pulls up if I lay him down....he does not like to be down so much anymore. So I've been working with him on sitting up even though its still a little early. He's doing great and really coming to life. He's started this high pitch squeal when he's excited and laughs really well. He's a very happy baby for the most part. He just gets better and better each day! It makes it harder for me to leave him when I go to work but I know he's in good hands. Well, that's it for know....we'll keep you posted!

Updos, Color and Cuts at Diva Do's

I know most of my post.....ok, all of my post are usually about Jax but I thought I'd start putting a little about my work on here too. Feel free to scroll on by and look at my cute son but this post is about hair. I like to do hair for weddings and since most of my friends are now married, I have to rely on word of mouth for my wedding adventures. I did a wedding of one of my clients a few weeks ago and thought I'd put up a few pictures of some updos.

I work in Mansfield, Tx and if you ever know of anyone that needs a good hairstylist or someone for weddings, let me know. I work independent in a cute little salon. I'm about to move into a new room in the salon. When I do, I'll post some pictures of my space as well.

Divas, Birthday and More

Well, last week has come and gone thank God and I'm officially in my 30's. I refuse to believe that - to me, I'm still 21...forever :) Anyways, Jax and I had some fun and of course I have to share some new pics. He's starting to get some hair on his head and it's so cute. It sticks straight up most of the time. I tried taking pictures with the sun behind him so you could see it. Isn't he adorable. I think its going to be blonde but there's a hint of darker blonde to it as well.....who knows.

The second set of pictures is of Jax eating....what he does best. He eats his oatmeal and fruit very well....so well that when I finish feeding him and put the bowls in the sink he immediately smashes his bib into his face and tries to eat what's on the bib. This day that I took these pictures, he wasn't in the mood to eat too much and got more on his bib than in his mouth. Sometimes he even spits it back at me - especially the bananas. He had food everywhere so I took some pics.

My birthday week was alright. My wonderful husband tried to plan a surprise party for me but that didn't work out to well due to my family drama. Oh well, it was the thought that counted and I truly appreciate his hard work and effort! Melinda (Diva) was in town for her shower so Jax and I packed up and headed to Heath Tx for that adventure. It was great to see her and all the other divas as usual. And of course, she looks great for being 7 months pregnant - she's having a girl and got lots of great pink things.

After the shower, Jax and I headed home to get ready for dinner. Wanissa, Trey, Jeremy and I went to Fogo De Chao for my birthday dinner. This is my favorite restaurant. If you've never been, I highly recommend it but go with an appetite and some money...its not cheap. We ate tons of meat and enjoyed a quiet evening without children. This was our first time to go out without Jax and of course we all talked about our kids the whole time pretty much. Jeremy also had a cake made....once again, he did a great job. We finished up the week with church at 1st Dallas and lunch at an Italian restaurant with Roger, Jana, Grandma Jackson and Sylvia. It was a great end to my birthday week and I appreciate all the cards and gifts from everyone but am glad its all over. Well, that's about it for now. We'll keep you posted!

The Great Pumpkin

Last week was a fun week with Jax. We met up with Cooper and Wanissa at the Arboretum in Dallas for some pumpkin fun. The only problem we had was that we went during Jax's nap time. He was pretty happy for the most part and I got a few pictures but when we went to take some really good ones, I looked down and he was asleep - right no time might I add. Oh well, we still had fun and got a few good pics. I can't wait till the boys are older where we can have a little more fun out there. And for all you moms out there that think its a good idea to go to the arboretum...take your own food! Its a bit expensive to eat at their restaurant and the lemonade is tart!

Jax and I also went to Canton with my mom on Friday. He did really good until it was time to go home. He wore a shirt that said "Chicks dig me" and he got lots of compliments from the women in Canton. He just smiled and laughed at everybody. I even got a few new baseball things for his room while we were there.

That's about it though. I feel like I've been working a lot. Maybe its just because I'm getting busy again on my 3 days, which I am thankful for. I even got to do 7 heads of hair for a wedding party on Saturday amidst fighting nasal allergies but oh well, I still love doing wedding hair or any hair for that matter!
I'm working the next 3 days in a row so I can be off for my birthday and for the weekend. Melinda is coming in town for her shower and Jax and I can't wait to see her and the divas. I've been looking forward to it forever it seems like. Well, that's about it....We'll keep you posted!

Four Months Old with Aunt Amy

Jax turned four months old on 9/27/08. He had a great week to go with it. His Aunt Amy (Jeremy's oldest sister) came in town from Arizona for the weekend. Jax had a great time with her.....she even brought some great clothes that are so cute. We can't wait to put them on when he gets big enough. Jeremy even took a day off to hang with us while she was in town. The best part was taking Aunt Amy to the pediatrician for Jax's 4 month check up and shots. She got a bit emotional when it came time for Jax to get his shots but we all got through it....well except for the kid in the next room screaming "I need my mommy"

Jax now weighs 17.1 lbs and is 25 1/2 inches long. He's in the 95th percentile for his weight (imagine that) and 75th for height. The doctor thinks he's taller than what the nurse said but i haven't rechecked that yet. He's getting so big. He grabs for everything and is so happy. He's eating well and sleeps well too finally.

Below are some more pictures of our weekend with Aunt Amy. Grumpa even came by a few times to say hello. I thought this next picture was so sweet. Jax definitely knows who his Grumpa is.

The next two pictures I got lucky that my camera was right there. This is when Jax discovered his toes for the first time. He sat there after he'd eaten and played with his toes for a good while.....so cute.

I thought this outfit was so cute. Mary Englebright came out with a new line of clothes for little ones. All the clothes have nursery rhimes on them and ofcourse we had to wear the hat....for a few minutes. I know he's not looking but he looked so sweet.
Well, that's about all for this week. Check in with us next week. Unfortunately, I'm turning 30 on the 9th. Nothing too exciting will be going on because I have no friends to celebrate with in the exciting town of Midlothian but oh well, what can ya do. My husband even has a game on my birthday....looks like it'll be me and Jax but I am looking forward to going to Fogo De Chow or however you spell it with Trey and Wanissa that weekend and seeing Melinda at her baby shower. Until then, we'll keep you posted!
