One little monkey jumping on the bed...

How does that song finish - oh yeah...he fell off and bumped his head. That's how our week began. Jeremy was on spring break this week and stayed home with Jax while I worked A LOT! Jax finally started crawling this last week and guess what happened - he fell off the bed. Jeremy calls me at work freaking out but Jax was fine. Just a little thud to the carpet and a little scarred but no bumps or bruises. I think it hurt Jeremy more than Jax.

Dad story of the week: Jeremy has thought for a long time that Jax should watch Saturday cartoons because that's what he did when he was little so when I go to work, Jeremy turns the mickey mouse clubhouse show on on Saturday mornings. Jax loves this show and I guess Jeremy does to. We were about to eat dinner the other night and Jeremy was entertaining Jax by singing "hot dog hot dog hot diggity dog" and doing the goofy movements from the show. Jax just loved that and I got a big kick out of it too. It's amazing how kids change your life. Jeremy is so good with Jax....helping out when I work late or on Saturdays and Jax loves his daddy! I couldn't do it without him!

So, that's right - Jax began crawling this week. It only took 9 months and 3 weeks for it to happen. He is now pulling up on everything, getting into everything and playing very well. In some ways, I love it because he has more to do now but I have to watch every move he makes. The other day, he was in his room and I stepped out for a second. When I walked back in, he had pulled out all the diapers from the box and had them scattered everywhere...fun times.

I included a few pictures of his crawling. My grandmother sent me some cookies and Jax discovered one on the floor, crawled over, picked it up and ate it all....well, with a little help from Brutus. He loves table food and is doing very well feeding himself now. Jax turns 10 months this week and we go see the doctor tomorrow. I accidentally scheduled his 9 month check up a little late but we'll have stats tomorrow.

Dog update: Everything is going well with Brutus now that the rain is over. Last week was a little crazy with the dogs inside and it raining all the time. Now, they are all able to enjoy the backyard. Him and Mona play very well together and they are so cute. I got a few pictures of the dogs. The first one - Brutus is the little ball in the middle curled up. Good times!

Last picture is of Jeremy's outdoor project. Jeremy and his dad have been working to make our backyard look better. One side is finished and the other side is in progress. They put down stone this week on one side and began the other side of the pergola...stone will follow on that side. We've started looking at patio furniture. It looks great and they did it all by themselves. Kudos to them!

Well, that's it for now. Have a great week and we'll keep you posted!

Meet Brutus and the rest of our week

That's right, we got Another dog :) We've been thinking about it for a while off and on and we finally just did it. Brutus is a full blood boxer like Mona. Jeremy named this one - he names all of his dogs after wrestlers for some odd reason (Brutus the beefcake barbarian) We got him in hopes he would grow up with Jax and be best buds....we're off to a great start. Everything seems to be going ok....well, except for Mona. She's a little confused and plays a little rough but hopefully she'll get use to him

Jax and Mona have done so well together, we just knew getting another boxer would be great for Jax. Case in point....Jax now pulls up on Mona, over Mona and everywhere in between and Mona just lays there. Its so cute.

I have a few other new pictures. Jax and I went to our first baseball game for Jeremy this past week. The longhorns unfortunately lost against Midlothian but it was still fun to get out and watch Jeremy coach. Jax fell asleep during the 4th inning but other than that, he clapped when I did and was pretty good considering it was his first game to sit through.

This last picture is one of my favorites and I just had to share. It was on our way to church a couple of Sundays ago and they both looked so cute in their blue. Well, that's about it for now. We're both working hard this week waiting for the weekend and next week - Spring Break! We'll keep you posted!

Jax's 9 month pictures

I took Jax to have his 9 month pictures taken yesterday at Portrait inovations. I was very pleased with this place....much better than babies r us. They take their time, don't rush you, you can book morning appointments and you get a ton of pictures at a good price! Anyways, I got a CD with the pictures so I thought I'd show you a few pics. Isn't he precious....I'm not partial or anything. These photos are just the rough images and haven't been touched up or cropped or whatever and these are just a few of the many!

I do have to explain the picture with his eyes almost closed. That is the look he makes when I tell him no or he knows he's in trouble by mom. Some how, the camera guy got him to do it and we were all laughing. What a character! Enjoy and we'll keep you posted!

First Tooth!!

The screaming started at 2:25am this last Friday night. I heard Jax through the monitor and knew something was wrong because it sounded horrible! He wouldn't stop but I had a feeling he might be teething so he ended up in bed with us that night...I felt so bad for him. Sure enough, the next evening on the 21st at my nephews birthday party, I discoverd he had cut his first tooth. Its still coming in but I can feel that its broken the skin. He's doing better now. And for the most part, he has only had 2 bad nights and no symptoms of cutting teeth other than the 2am screams. I know you can't see much in this picture but he rarely lets me get into his mouth. Its on the left side looking at him.

Jax turns 9 months on the 27th but we got the party started early. He had his first cupcake at my nephews party and loved it! My dad (Papa Sam) got a few good pictures. Jax eats so well...pretty much anything you give him, he'll eat. I hope he keeps that up!

Not much else going on. Have a good week. We'll keep you posted!

Latest Accomplishments and other funny things...

Jax will be 9 months old next week. Its flown by so fast - I just can't believe it! He's got such the personality and is for the most part a very sweet boy.

Within the last month, I've noticed that he's become scared of certain noises. It took me a few times vacumming to realized that he was screaming and crying because he doesn't like that noise. He also hates when I bring out the ironing board and the noise it makes...horrible screech. And now, all of the sudden, he doesn't like when I turn on the hairdryer..it just freaks him out. Poor little guy - I'm hoping he will grow out of the scary noise thing.

And no, my child is still not crawling. I'm hearing more and more about bigger kids having crawling problems but my doctor says not to worry...its not a milestone. I walked into his room the other morning and found him standing in his crib. I was a bit shocked. He likes to play with the ribbon on his bumper. He likes to stand up and I've let go a few times and he just stands there....until he falls. So more than likely, he'll walk before he crawls.

I'm trying to expand his vocabulary. You may think this is funny but he's very chatty. He says mom, momma, dadadada, bye and I'm now working on Mona. He'll say Mo and then na but hasn't put the 2 together yet....it'll happen though. I'm sure of it. He loves his doggy! He even pulled up on her the other day and Mona just stood there like it was no big deal.

Last but not least, he has begun to throw some major fits. If I'm holding him and want to put him on the floor or in his highchair, he arches his back and kicks me and screams. When I finally do put him down, he throws a major temper tantrum. If I don't feed him fast enough, he screams or grunts and if he doesn't get what he wants, he'll lay down and kick and scream. I'm like...where the heck is this coming from. Soooo Jax is getting little pops on the diaper and its amazing...he immediately stops throwing fits. Sometimes, I can even look at him with a very serious look and he'll stop as well. I'm not spanking but just enough to know I mean business.
He's still being spoiled rotten by Grandma Jackson on Tuesdays and Wednesdays and we are sooo thankful for her. He just loves when she walks in the door. He's slowly getting use to going to sunday school at church. He cries when we leave him but the same lady always takes him and makes sure he gets a little nap and then he's ok....or so we're told.
Well, I guess that's it for now. Jeremy is doing well with baseball and I'm working hard at the salon and staying super busy. We'll keep you posted!

Its finally here!!

Well, today is an exciting day in the Jackson household! We finally broke down or I guess our dryer did....and bought a new washer and dryer. It just arrived and is already in use. As you can see in the pictures, Jax is excited too. Has my life really come to this....major excitement over a new washer and dryer :)
Happy Valentines Day!!
We'll keep you posted.

Addicted to facebook...neglecting my blog

As you can see, I haven't posted in a while. One problem is my stupid camera that's not doing so well and the other problem is facebook...its so addictive! So I thought I'd finally post a few new pictures of Jax and give you an update.

Jax is now 8 1/2 months old. His newest trick is giving high fives. He had a temper when he doesn't get what he wants and is finally attempting to crawl and pull up all at the same time. He's fun to watch - that's for sure! My first pic is of Jax pulling up on his toy. He's been trying for a while and finally did it this past week.

Jeremy started baseball last week and this time of year, he always comes home with new longhorn clothing of some sort. He walked in with this beanie hat on and I don't think Jax knew who he was. So he put it on Jax's head....he looked much cuter in it than his father :)

Not much else exciting news right now. We're just working and enjoying life. I am excited about my massage tonight. My mom knows a lady from our church that will come to your house in our area ofcourse - I also cut her and her husbands hair. Anyways, Jeremy and I are both getting massages tonight thanks to Dedra.

I wish you could see what I'm seeing right now - Jax is trying so hard to crawl...good times. That's about it from us...oh and big congrats go out to Michele Cone on her pregnancy. We are sooo excited for them! And congrats to Kelly Chambers on finding out she's having a boy this summer. We'll keep you posted!
