Four Months Old with Aunt Amy

Jax turned four months old on 9/27/08. He had a great week to go with it. His Aunt Amy (Jeremy's oldest sister) came in town from Arizona for the weekend. Jax had a great time with her.....she even brought some great clothes that are so cute. We can't wait to put them on when he gets big enough. Jeremy even took a day off to hang with us while she was in town. The best part was taking Aunt Amy to the pediatrician for Jax's 4 month check up and shots. She got a bit emotional when it came time for Jax to get his shots but we all got through it....well except for the kid in the next room screaming "I need my mommy"

Jax now weighs 17.1 lbs and is 25 1/2 inches long. He's in the 95th percentile for his weight (imagine that) and 75th for height. The doctor thinks he's taller than what the nurse said but i haven't rechecked that yet. He's getting so big. He grabs for everything and is so happy. He's eating well and sleeps well too finally.

Below are some more pictures of our weekend with Aunt Amy. Grumpa even came by a few times to say hello. I thought this next picture was so sweet. Jax definitely knows who his Grumpa is.

The next two pictures I got lucky that my camera was right there. This is when Jax discovered his toes for the first time. He sat there after he'd eaten and played with his toes for a good while.....so cute.

I thought this outfit was so cute. Mary Englebright came out with a new line of clothes for little ones. All the clothes have nursery rhimes on them and ofcourse we had to wear the hat....for a few minutes. I know he's not looking but he looked so sweet.
Well, that's about all for this week. Check in with us next week. Unfortunately, I'm turning 30 on the 9th. Nothing too exciting will be going on because I have no friends to celebrate with in the exciting town of Midlothian but oh well, what can ya do. My husband even has a game on my birthday....looks like it'll be me and Jax but I am looking forward to going to Fogo De Chow or however you spell it with Trey and Wanissa that weekend and seeing Melinda at her baby shower. Until then, we'll keep you posted!

Fun with Food

It's been an exciting few days around our house. We'll start off with last Friday - Jeremy had football as usual so Jax and I went over to Honey and Pappa's house (my parents) to hang out. This is what I usually do when Jeremy is gone because I have no one else to hang out with and I actually do enjoy hanging out with my parents still. pictures included.

The next photo is pretty cute. I was doing the laundry the other day and got this crazy idea to put Jax in the laundry basket. He just sat there and looked at me like....what's up. He never cried or even made a noise for that matter...he just sat there and chilled. I have the most laid back child! I had to take a picture.

Now for the real excitment.....Jax finally tried food for the first time a few days ago. We have his 4 month apptmt this week and I thought I'd give it a try in case I had questions or concerns for the doctor. As I knew he would, he loved his oatmeal. I put a little applesauce with it as well and he loved that too. He did make some funny faces at first but everything went well. I was worried he might get constipated from the oatmeal or whatever but everything has been going well and no problems there! Well, that's about it for now. I'll have more after we get back from the doctor. Aunt Amy is also coming for a visit tomorrow so I'm sure we'll have pictures of that as well. We'll keep you posted!

Gig 'em Ags

Ok, I finally got on the bandwagon and bought Jax some aggie onesies much to Jeremy's dismay. They are still a little big but look cute on him. Even if our aggies haven't been up to par lately on the football field, A&M is still the best school in the big 12 and my child will be attending it in the future. The brainwashing has already begun. Pictures included with my aggie ring and one of his new outfits.

Had to include this picture for the week as well. With the weather being so nice, Jax and I have begun walking almost every evening. This picture was taken after our walk and he was about to fall asleep. Our neighborhood is so quiet and a great place to walk. This is one of Jax's new football hoodies and since it was pretty cool this evening, we pulled it out and put it too some good use. What a little chunky monkey!

Not much else going on right now. Football season has engulfed my husband so Jax and I are getting some great quality time together. Jax will be 4 months next week...time has flown by. We go to the doctor for another round of shots next Friday. We'll also be starting on some fruit and oatmeal soon as well...I can't wait. Well, that's about it for now - We'll keep you posted!

What time is it....Game Time

This week was Cedar Hill's first home varsity football game and of course, we had to go. Our Friday morning started off with a little love from Grandmother and a trip to her beauty salon. The lady that gave me my first haircut, Susan, still does my grandmother's hair every friday. I've been dying to get a decent haircut so Jax and I went with her and she cut my hair as well. It was great! After we left there, we made a trip to Jeremy's school to drop off some shoes for him. Little to my knowledge, Jeremy decided we needed to meet the entire faculty at his school....He paraded Jax around for about 30 minutes and introduced him to some of the teachers he works with. One teacher called my child "Juicy" I thought that was hilarious.

After leaving the school, we went home for a nice afternoon nap before the game. I bought Jax some new clothes a while back for football season. He was dressed in all nike as shown in the pictures. My mom told me I might need to get a hat in case it gets cold and I found the cutest one at walmart....Jax didn't like the hat so much but its still cute and will serve a purpose.
When he woke up, we got dressed and headed for the stadium around 6:30ish. Jax sat nice and quiet and smiled at everyone during the first and second quarter. He got startled a few times by the crowd but didn't cry. Then half time came and all haties broke loose....We got up and walked around so he would stop screaming. He didn't want to eat or sleep...just walk around. Dad even stopped by and said hello as he was exiting the field for halftime. We went back up into the stands for the third quarter and Jax did not like that at all. He screamed the whole quarter until he put himself to sleep thank goodness. He was so off schedule I can't say I blame him. He slept through the fourth quarter and may I say that my arms were very sore the next day from holding that child. After the game was over, we went down onto the field as we do every game. All the kids run around the field and have a good ol time. Jeremy grabbed Jax and had him the rest of the time showing him off to everybody. The looked so cute! The longhorns ended up winning and so did Jeremy's freshman on saturday against Allen. So it ended up being a pretty good Friday despite my screaming child.
And on a side note, Jax has an exciting new babysitter....Grandma Jackson has decided to come to our house on Tuesdays and Wednesdays when I work to help out with Jax. We are so excited and blessed that she will be watching him and Gigi(Jeremy's mom) will continue to watch him on Saturdays. I'm glad to know I've got 2 people that will look forward to taking care of my child and will always be there no matter what.....should have done it this way from the beginning! Well, that's it for now, we'll keep you posted
