Christmas 2009 with the Jackson Family

Hard to believe Christmas has come and gone already. Here I am already going back to work tomorrow....seriously :( Other than that, we had a great Christmas this year and look forward to many more.

We started off the festivities on Christmas Eve with dinner and presents at Grandma Jackson's house. That included Jeremy's dad and Jana, Grandma Jackson, Jeremy's cousins on his dad side and a few of Jana's family. We always enjoy going over there and this year we enjoyed a white Christmas eve...but a hard time getting home due to ice....one to remember! Here are some pictures.

Christmas Morning, we woke up around 7:30am and got Jax out of bed to see what Santa brought. Jax played all morning with his new toys - pictures below.

We went to Honey and Papa's house around 9:30 for breakfast, gifts, nap, afternoon lunch/dinner. That included my parents, my sister, her husband and there 3 kids. We all got some great gifts and Jax has a wonderful time with his cousins. He played so hard with them that he fell asleep around 7:15 on the recliner with me.

The day after Christmas, Jeremy's mom and Michael came over for dinner. Jeremy smoked
ribs, we watched some football and opened gifts. Jax loved all the elmo stuff he got for Christmas. He has a whole new library of elmo books alone! We even went out and bought a new book case for his new room today. Gigi also gave Jax an elmo backpak.
On Sunday, we finished off the week with a visit to my grandmother's house for lunch and gifts with my extended family. It was a great week and we are so thankful for all the family and friends we got to see and spend time with. Jax has started some great memories. By the end of the week, when we got in the car, Jax stared saying grandparents names thinking we were always going to someones house....kind of funny. Thanks again to all our family. We are so blessed to have you. Happy New Year - what a year it will be. We'll keep you posted!

It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas

We took Jax this last week to a Christmas light show in Cedar Hill over Joe Pool Lake. They have it every year and cars line up for miles to drive through so we thought we'd follow along this year. I think Jax enjoyed riding in the front seat more than he did the lights but every once in a while, he'd so Whoa - so that was worth paying for :)
I've attached a couple more pictures from our drive.

Funny Christmas Story: Jeremy and Jax met Grumpa in Cedar Hill this past week for lunch at a little dive they like to go to. A biker dude came in while they were there that had a white beard and other similarities to Santa......Jax turned and said "Ho Ho" (that's what he calls Santa) and kept saying it. I wasn't there but Jeremy said they guy played along and was real nice about it. My clients always ask if Jax understands Christmas....he understands Ho Ho - that's for sure!
We went to the Galleria last night and finally had Santa pictures made. I was a little disappointed in the system. I knew Jax wouldn't like being passed off to Santa and he didn't. They immediately took 4 pictures and that was it. After they took the pictures, he was fine in Santa's lap but they were done and could care less. I of course bought the pictures anyways - Jax has a great pout going on in the picture I purchased and its a great memory. I won't be taking him back to that Santa but its one for the books I guess.
Until next time, we'll keep you posted!

4 Year Anniversary

It's hard to believe its only been four years since Jeremy and I were married. We of course go back a lot longer - I was 14 when I first met him! Our anniversary was December 17th and we of course went to Fogo De Chao
It's been a great four years for us and so much to look back on. I am so thankful for all the memories we have shared and all the memories we will share. I have truly been blessed with him in my life and am very thankful for all that he does for me and Jax. You never know what its going to be like when you have kids and Jeremy took to it like he was always suppose to be a dad. I love my family and look forward to Jake joining us in a few months. I know with God in our live, family and marriage, we will always prosper in the way he has for us. I look to him for guidance and thank him for such a wonderful family and husband and look forward to many more years together!

18 month stats

Yes, I know I'm terrible for taking this picture....anyways. Jax and I went to see Dr Daniels yesterday for his 18 month checkup. He did not like it if you can't tell. I don't usually let him take his owl into places but its an exception when there are shots and doctors involved.

Jax's stats
age: 18 1/2 months old
weight: 29.5 lbs
height: 33 1/2 inches
95% in both categories

Things about Jax at this age:
His personality is a nice mix between Jeremy and I. He is chatty when you get to know him but quiet and shy if he doesn't know you. He tends to play by himself until he finds someone in the crowd that's as calm as he is. He shys away from the crazy kids. He's very happy but doesn't smile much in pictures (like Jeremy)

His speech is coming along very well. He can count to 3 and is starting to use phrases instead of single words. I taught him to say "I'm cute" yesterday. The great thing is that you can understand him most of the time.

He's using a fork and spoon at dinner - still figuring it all out but doing well with them. Still not sure if he's left or right handed. He does better with his left but uses his right as well and throws with his right most of the time.

He is starting to pretend. I catch him playing like he's on the phone (been doing that for a long time) but he watches himself in the mirror and plays all kinds of things for as long as you let him.

I'll stop here. I could go on and on. He loves his dogs whom he wrestles with, loves to play outside and still enjoys Grandma Jackson twice a week. Everything is going well and we look forward to many more check ups and posts. Until then, we'll keep you posted!

Pictures from Amy and More

Jeremy's sister Amy stayed with us for a while in November. She's always good about taking pictures of Jax while she is here so I thought I'd do a blog with pictures from Amy. There are a few in here taken by me as well but most are from Aunt Amy.

We have some of the baby stuff out and around our house - Jax likes to get in his old car seat and also the bouncy seat in my closet. He doesn't quite understand that he's grown out of them. I try to explain but you see how far it gets me.

Jax has a great love for Elmo. The only show he will sit and watch for a full hour is Sesame Street. He also tries to put in elmo videos in the DVD player and repeats Mo, Mo all day long pretty much....that's what he calls Elmo. I've already decided that his 2yr birthday will be an Elmo party.

The next couple of pictures are from Jax's first day with snow. He wasn't quite sure what to think but he liked being out in it. Amy got a couple of great pictures for us before I headed off to work!

The next few pictures are the day after Thanksgiving. Jeremy and I got up at 5:15 and left for the stores. We were home by 9am and Jeremy immediately pulled out the Christmas tree and decorations. He loves Christmas. The rest of the pictures are from that day.

And that's it for the week. I did go to the doctor today. I am 22 weeks along and everything seems to be going well except for the fact of getting bigger and bigger but what can ya do. We'll keep you posted!

Thanksgiving 2009

Another great Thanksgiving has come and gone and of course I took pictures of it all. I will have to admit, I didn't do as good of a job taking pictures this year and was so tired the night of thanksgiving that I didn't get any at The Jackson household....I'll make up for it at Christmas I promise! The picture to the left is the best we could do - someone was not cooperating :)

We started off the day at my grandmother's house in Dallas for lunch. It was a nice day and all the boys got to play in the leafs and have a grand 'ol time outside.

After lunch, Jax and I took a nap and then we all headed off to Grumpa's house in Oakcliff. Jeremy's dad side of the family was finishing up lunch and we stayed for a late
dinner and some football. It was good to catch up with Jeremy's Aunt Mary and her kids as well.

Jax loves going to Grumpa's house because he can run circles around their whole house, play with their microwave that's on his level and Grammy always gives him a nice bath before he falls asleep in the car on the way home....what a day!
On Saturday, we headed to Edgewood, Tx to visit with Jeremy's mom side of the family. We had a great day of family and food there as well. Jax's great grandmother has an organ that he loves to play on and then he also enjoys running around outside. We got to visit with Ginny and Dale from Kansas along with their daughter Megan and her boyfriend Nathan (we don't get to see them very often because they are from Kansas) Along with Jeremy's other two uncles and their kids. And yes, the two very grown up girls in the front of this picture were my flower girls in mine and Jeremy's wedding....time flies!

Here are a few other pictures from that day. We had a great Thanksgiving this year and look forward to Christmas. Until then, we'll keep you posted!
