A Day at the Park

Jax had his first day at the park. When I found out the weather was going to be so nice today, I knew I had to take advantage of it. I met DeAnn and her boys at this little park she told me about after Jax's afternoon nap and we had so much fun. Jax really enjoyed the swing and we went down the slide as well. It was a blast and we look forward to many more days at the park. Enjoy our pictures and we'll keep you posted.

Weekly news

We started off our week with a trip to my grandmother and grandfather's house on Monday. Grandaddy turned 81 on Monday and so we went to see him. Jax wasn't in a very good mood and clung to me the whole time but it was still good to see them as usual.

This next picture is of Jax and Jeremy from last Saturday. Jax has gotten to stay with dad lately since he's in between sports and not coaching at the moment. I got home from work Saturday afternoon and found them out on our back porch smoking chicken and making good use of Jeremy's Christmas present...rocking chairs. Aren't they cute!

And the last pictures as screwed up as they are (I dropped my camera and the flash isn't working) are of Jax in the tub. We've stopped using his bath seat for the last month now and he's much happier. He didn't like the new seat too much but loves the freedom he has now to play with his toys and splash the water. I get a bath most of the time too due to his frequent splashing. Well, that's it for now....we'll keep you posted!

Diva Do's New Room Finally!

I know I had said last week that I finally got a room at my salon. I've been trying to decorate and make some new curtains. My mom and I went to Garden Ridge and got all my furniture except the cabinet. My mother-in-law and I found that one at the crisis pregnancy center in Arlington for $65 - I was pretty excited and it was a good way to give money to that cause while taking someone elses junk off their hands. So I've now been in my room for 3 weeks and I love it. I'm no longer in the hallway playing secretary for everyone else! My I also add that I've now been there a year and a half - sadly that's the longest I've stayed at one salon. Anyways, I've included some pictures.

Jogging stroller, clapping and NO Sleep!

We've had a good week so far for the most part....maybe I should say our days have been good. Nights...not so much. I think Jax may be going through a growth spurt or something. He hasn't wanted to sleep through the night the last 2 weeks and its killing me! After putting him down at 8:30, he wakes again at 1am then around 4 or 5am then 8ish - what is up with that??

Igot a jogging stroller for Christmas and finally got it out and put it together. The one day this week that we had decent weather, Jax and I took it out for a test drive and really enjoyed it. Our neighborhood is so quiet that we just jog right in the middle of the street. Not only that but it has an ipod attachent where I don't have to use my earbuds so its like jogging with a boom box - kind of cool! So 2 thumbs up for the jogging stroller....good job Mom!

Every week Jax does something new. He never ceases to amaze me. A couple of days ago, after he finished his breakfast in his highchair, I clapped and said yehhh like I always do and he put his hands together and did it back to me...soo cute! He's also waving bye bye now as well with his whole arm. And the mom and dada thing is just great. It cracks me up when he says mom just as plain as can be even if he doesn't exactly know that Jeremy isn't mom and I'm not dada. He'll get there.

Mona has now figured out that Jax is eating solid foods and she can get in on that when he drops it on the floor. He eats these puffs and a few have hit the floor and Mona comes running. So now, Mona waits by his chair at breakfast to see if anything will be served her way. This morning Mona got a surprise when Jax reached down and gave a good tug to her ear - she just sat there like it was no big deal.

My last picture was taken about a week ago or so. Jax's hair is coming in pretty good now and I couldn't resist being the hairstylist that I am. I got some of Jeremy's gel and gave him his first mohawk....pretty funny with the few hairs I had to construct it with.

Well, that's about it for us. Jeremy and I are back in full swing work mode. I finally got my own room at my salon and am currently decorating. I'll have pictures when I'm done. Until then, we'll keep you posted!

A little more Christmas

We celebrated with Jeremy's mom and her mom (Grandma Phillips) a little after Christmas. I had to work the day we went over there but Jeremy was still off and was able to go a little earlier. Jax was able to spend some time with Grandma Phillips and some of Jeremy's cousins/Aunt and Uncle were there as well.

For those of you that were at or in my wedding, you might recognize these little girls as the ones throwing petals on their heads during our ceremony.....that's right, our cute little flower girls. They've grown up a bit but are still just as precious as they can be. Jax enjoyed playing with the girls and Grandma Phillips since he doesn't get to see them very often.

Well, these are the last of my Christmas pictures. It was a fun Christmas and I can't wait to see what the next one has in store for us ;) We'll keep you posted!
