Buddies

We got a surprise visit from Wanissa and Cooper this past week. It was fun to watch the boys play now that they are both moving around on their own. Cooper is really into giving hugs at the moment and he went after Jax a few times. They were so cute! It's always good to see them!

Just a few other random pictures from the week. Jax pulled out the dishwasher while we were cleaning up dinner one night and got into everything. He also found an empty milk jug and played with that for a few days. Who needs toys!

This last picture is of Jax doing his "mean face" as Jeremy says. He does it all the time and it just cracks me up. He's really paying attention to things and trying to pick up different words. When I drop things or he drops things I always say uh oh and he repeats uh but no oh. Today I dropped my keys on our way out the door and he automatically said uh really loud without me saying anything. He also knocks on everything...wall, doors whatever. So I always say knock knock and now he'll say na na. You can tell he's trying to pick it all up...so cute!

That's about it for now. Until next week - We'll keep you posted!

HAAAY

I know you are probably wondering why the heck I titled my post the way I did.....This is Jax's new word (Hey) Sometimes he says hey and other times its a longer version with haaey. Its really cute. He's also saying ball. He even knows what a ball is and will point and say ball when he sees one. He also points at every bird he sees in the sky. Why he does this, I don't know but it just makes me sick that he even notices them - people that know me well know that I'm terrified of birds.

Not much else going on this week. I did get one good pic this week. I caught Jax in the bathroom unraveling the toilet paper and had to grab my camera. I know have to shut this door otherwise, its all on the floor. He also turns the faucets on in our bathtub and thinks that's fun...what a mess.

I included my latest sewing project. Jeremy has our study all done in vintage baseball pictures, framed baseball whatever so I thought I'd play along and decorate with a baseball window treatment. I didn't want anything too frilly so I kept it straight across but did do a little pleating at the top - I really liked this because its something different (up close pic so you can see what I mean about the pleats..it took forever)

We got some good news this last week - Jeremy got the Varsity assistant position for baseball next year. This means he won't be doing football anymore and will be home on Saturdays. As much as I enjoyed football, I'm excited he'll be around more especially for Jax's sake because I don't have a consistent babysitter on Saturdays while I work so this was a big blessing for our family!
Jax turns 11 months this week. It has flown by. I'm beginning the prep work for his party next month. We can't wait. We'll keep you posted!

Easter 2009

Easter has always been a fun time in my family growing up so I was really looking forward to passing on the traditions to my new family this year. Throw in some rain, half the family backing out of coming over, a million places to go in one morning, shoes that don't fit my sons feet (that did 3 weeks ago) and things can get a little yucky for Shelley and her happy thoughts of how Jax's first Easter was suppose to go. But other than that (yes, I'm done venting) we had a great day!

We started off the morning with a visit from the easter bunny - Jax went straight for the chocolate egg that looked like a baseball. I don't think he cared about anything else. He also got a stuffed bunny, elmo video and a few other candies that he will never be allowed to eat :) They were more for me.

We then got dressed and went to my sister's church to see Connor get baptized. As soon as that was over, we raced back to Midlothian to make the 9:30 service at our church. When that was over, we then went to my parents house for lunch with my grandparents and my sister's family. Since the weather was so bad, Jax missed his first easter egg hunt but we went on to Grumpa and Grammy's house where he got lots of other things that made up for it and plenty of family to boot!
Grumpa fed Jax some kind of fruit salad and he enjoyed his easter basket from Grammy and Grumpa. Grandma Jackson also gave Jax a cute little outfit and new truck that made lots of fun noises. He played with Jennifer and Mary and enjoyed the new big window at the front of the house. Jax had a great afternoon and finished it off with a quick nap on the way home that evening...I think we wore him out.

We had a great day when it was all said and done. We came home and rested and Jax enjoyed his new scooter from Gigi. He thinks the scooter is so fun and loves to play with all the buttons and enjoyes being pushed on it as well. (doesn't he look like his father in this pic) Thanks to everyone that helped to make Jax's first easter so fun! We'll keep ya'll posted!

Jax's day in the bluebonnets

Exciting news...I got a new camera!! No more yucky pictures. What a difference it makes. Jax and I went and found some bluebonnets today but I first took a picture with my camera right after Jax had his afternoon snack. You can actually tell his eyes are blue now.

We went out after that picture was taken and found some bluebonnets my mom had told me about. He wasn't too sure about them at first but then started to enjoy himself by picking a few...don't tell anyone.
The sun was really bright and it was starting to get hot so I only got a few good ones before he got a little cranky. He did his nose wrinkle pose as usual - Jeremy calls that his mean face. And as he's done with everything else, he also tried to eat a bluebonnet. I quickly took it out of his mouth....dear Lord. Then he just got mad and we finally left. They are all precious to me ofcourse and I put all of them on here that we took. Enjoy the pics....don't they look so nice and clear and bright! We'll have some Easter pics up next week. Enjoy the holiday weekend. Happy Easter and Praise God!! We'll keep you posted

Oh the joys of crawling

Now that Jax is crawling very well, he's learned to get into just about everything and has discovered many new things. I could handle him throwing his diapers all over his room but this last week, he's scared me a few times. The picture to the left is exactly what you think...I was in the kitchen preparing his breakfast and Brutus was having his puppy chow. Jax decided he needed some too before I could get to him. I was able to get it out of his mouth before he swallowed thank goodness. He had about 4 pieces shoved in there. After I cleared his mouth and realized Brutus was still eating I guess he didn't like that and head butt Brutus and let out a loud grunt. It was pretty cute.
Another day, he was right outside our study door playing with the door stopper - you know the ones that make noises when you push on them. I looked over because it had gotten quiet and Jax had the white tip of the door stopper in his mouth. That scared me just a bit but once again, I was able to get it out while he cried because I scared him.

This morning he tried pete moss from a fake plant on our window seat. He pulled up on the window seat and proceeded to put a hand full in his mouth with me watching and laughing. That came out quickly...I guess it didn't taste so good.

The last funny thing he's doing right now is pulling up against our bathtub. He's teething and he likes to put his gums against the cold faucet. Today he learned how to turn the faucet on as well. So he'd turn it on and off....on and off.. he thought that was funny.

We've had another good week and kind of a turning point for both of us. I've officially weened him as of a couple of days ago and he's taking formula now. I'm happy I was able to nurse him for a full 10 months but he's getting too big, too wiggly and I was just at my stopping point with pumping. I'm so thankful I was able to nurse him and wouldn't have it any other way. I highly recommend it to any new mom. What a bonding experience between you and your baby. It was a sad night to stop but I know I've done my part and look forward to doing it again with the next one....not yet though :)

One more picture for the week - here are the dogs. I know razor looks a little funny. I'm in the middle of shaving his winter coat. Its not an easy job but he's pretty calm and he's shedding so it had to come off. That's about it for now. We'll keep you posted!
